I don’t love the terminology ‘trash the dress’. I prefer ‘rock the dress’, simply because that’s what Laura did! She rocked her dress…right into the ocean. Laura, Sal and I only had about 30 minutes of sunlight left when we started our session but that didn’t stop us (I couldn’t even imagine what we would have captured if we had more time). It went by so fast but we had such an amazing time. These two were up for anything and everything!!
I would recommend to all my brides to do a trash the dress session after your big day. You spend so much money on your dress only to wear it for one day. Why not wear it for two before dry cleaning it and throwing it in a box for the rest of eternity? (I’m so logical, right?) Well, if I haven’t convinced you yet, maybe the photos from Laura and Sal’s trash the dress session will.

Huge THANK YOU and big hugs to Laura and Sal for everything! Congrats to you both and I wish you nothing but a life full of happiness!
I don’t have anything planned until January (photography sessions I mean)… I’m not sure when I’ll be blogging next. Maybe something over the holidays?…til then.
Have a wonderful week everyone!! – J
I was ecstatic to be apart of Laura and Sal’s wedding day at the Dreams Palm Beach resort in Punta Cana, December 7th, 2011. The day was beautiful, the weather was gorgeous and the bride and groom were absolutely stunning. All of Laura and Sal’s hard work planning their wedding paid off and everything was perfect! Thank you both for including me in your special day!

I can’t wait to share my pictures from our trash the dress session we did the next day… stay tuned!
Happy happy joy joy! – J
Julie and Anthony… THANK YOU!
I had such an amazing time shooting Julie and Anthony’s wedding at the Bronte Creek Provincial Park in Oakville. I knew from the moment Julie and I had our first coffee date to discuss the details of their wedding that I had the best clients! I won’t lie, I was a little worried when Julie told me the entire wedding was outside… in September (cause I’m prone to freezing) but we really lucked out. It was incredibly gorgeous outside and the park was the perfect setting for their special day.
Julie and Anthony are really one of the fun-ist (pretty sure this is NOT a word but you catch my drift) couples I have shot to date. I have SO MANY pictures of them goofing around and laughing with each other and their guests – I’m thinking of posting a separate ‘candid’ blog just for that!
Thanks again for including me in your special day and the biggest CONGRATS to the both of you!!! You guys are awesome!
Tracey and Graham Robertson really lucked out with a beautiful sunny and surprisingly warm day for their April wedding. They were married in a very intimate and lovely ceremony, followed by a small reception at the Harrop Restuarant, just on the outskirts of the quaint little downtown of Milton. I had such a wonderful day shooting my first wedding of 2011! What an excellent way to start off the wedding season! Thank you Tracey and Graham for letting jmongphotography be apart of your special day!

When I met Sarah and Dave, it was almost a year before their big day. Sarah had big expectations for photography on her day and I was prepared for the challenge! Her and Dave scheduled 3 hours of photography between the ceremony and the reception.
September 25, 2010 quickly approached and off to Grimsby, Ontario, to shoot their big day! We had so much fun shooting, with 3 wonderful locations, choosing just a few images from their wedding day for my blog was tough! (did I say tough, pretty much impossible).
Sarah was such a beautiful and fun bride and Dave, well easy going as easy going gets! Thank you Sarah and Dave for allowing us to be apart of your special day. Congrats!
Viva Las Vegas!!! I had so much fun shooting Karen and Sean’s wedding at the Mirage in Las Vegas, September 2010. Here is my photo-tale of the grooms and groomsmen as we ran around the lobby like we owned that place (ok, more like I was running around like I owned it!).
Everyone had such an amazing time and we got some pretty cool shots! What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas! Unless you get married! Thank you for including me in your day Karen and Sean!!!
What no bride wants to wake up to on her wedding day is a sky full of clouds and raindrops filling the air. That was the setting for Karen & Roger’s wedding in Bracebridge. It rained, no it poured for pretty much the entire day but the weather was no match for Karen & Roger. Even though the sun did manage to peak out for about 5-10 mins everyone was so happy and excited there wasn’t a sour mood in the house!
Everything was drenched, the sky was full of dark angry clouds and there were puddles everywhere – but when life hands you lemons, make lemonade (my very wise photographer friend told me this! shockingly he was right – ha) So,that’s what we did (I’m still referring to the lemonade here). We took advantage of the few dry minutes we had that day and it really was a big success! – despite how waterlogged we all were.
Karen & Roger’s cake topper was one of my favourite details from the day. I’m sure it doesn’t directly accurately interpret their relationship – but shows the couple’s sense of humor and light-heartedness. We had so much fun shooting that day – dodging rain drops and chasing the sun rays.
Special thanks to Karen & Roger for being good sports – running here and there and rushing our photography session to capture some dry shots from their day.

Have a great week everyone!!! – J
