This is somewhat embarrassing!! My poor little China was in desperate need of a bath and haircut. I like to grow her hair a bit longer and put ponytails in her hair but when she yanks them out and runs around she looks like this… (wonder how she sees??)

Oh the torture of a bath and hair cut.  I think she pretty much hates my guts here ha ha! How cute, she’s checking herself out in the mirror… not sure she likes what she sees “MOMMY, WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME?!?”Finally, the reward… the baby kong filled with treats! She’s happy again! It’s funny, she still looks dirty! My little rat! Soooo cute – love love love!

I have a super busy weekend ahead filled with lots of shooting! Hope to blog again before the weekend is done! Have an awesome weekend everyone!- J

Today, I had a photo session at Crystal’s fabulous new studio, Exhale Pilates, located in downtown Burlington.  I had a great time shooting here today, the space was so light and airy it really made my job easy!  It definitely helped that everyone (the instructors and clients) were all very charismatic and positive (and flexible!).

Here are 3 of the 5 instructors, Crystal (owner & instructor), Rachel and Doug (and they are all in the most AMAZING SHAPE!! – kinda makes you want to work out doesn’t it?).

Exhale Pilates new space is gorgeous, spacious and very zen.

Ummm… now that I’m completely pooped (by watching the instructors at work) time to rest!  Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone! – J

Last Friday, I donated my photography services to the Osteoporosis Bone Appetite Chef Challenge, a popular fundraiser held at the beautiful and historic Old Mill Inn and Spa in Toronto.

This event was hosted by the gorgeous and charismatic Dr. Marla Shapiro and featured four celebrated local chefs – Lynn Crawford, Christian Pritchard, Anthony Rose, and Donna Dooher – each competing to be crowned the Bone Appetite Chef Challenge Champion!  All chefs prepared masterful “bone friendly” dishes with the help of audience members.  After the dishes were completed, the audience was invited to judge these delicious delights at one of the tasting stations.

The chefs and featured guests were very dynamic and engaging which really added to the success of the event! I thank you for letting me be a part of it.

I went to North Bay this weekend for my nephew King’s 3rd birthday.  Sunny did such a great job on his dump truck cake! nom nom! Happy Birthday King!

King and Daddy playing with his new guitar Scott and I got him for his birthday.  If he starts playing now he’ll be a ROCKSTAR soon enough! ;o) (wishful thinking maybe…) LOVE THIS KID! I’m going to try to blog about the Osteoporosis Bone Appetit Chef Challenge Charity Event tomorrow so stay tuned!!  Hope everyone had an amazing weekend… J

When my brother was visiting a few weeks ago, my nephew King (who’s turning 3 this weekend), gravitated towards the musical instruments in our house.  He really liked strumming the guitar but it was way too big for him.  So, for his birthday, Scott and I bought him his own guitar!  It’s half sized and super cute.  I can’t wait to give it to him on Saturday!

On a completely unrelated note, I’m in Niagara Falls tomorrow giving a presentation, then rushing back to Toronto as I will be donating my photography services at the Osteoporosis Bone Appetite Chef Challenge Charity Event (phew that was a mouthful!) which is taking place at the Old Mill Inn and Spa.  I’m VERY happy to be giving back to such a great cause! I will try to blog about it next week!

Have a wicked weekend everyone! – J

My brother came to visit 2 weeks ago with his family and they went to Chudleigh’s Apple Farm (which is only 5 minutes from my house) and brought us home a bag of apples…my life has been forever changed (by the apples not by the visit, ha ha)! I have decided that Chudleigh’s Honey Crisp apples are the most deRicious apples in the world (ok, maybe a slight embellishment).  If you live anywhere close to Milton/Halton Hills the drive to the farm for these apples is definitely worth it! (I swear I’m not getting paid to write this!)

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! – J

Wayne, a friend of mine and a very talented wedding planner (Marble Weddings), called me on a whim asking if I can do an impromptu engagement session for one of his clients Katharine and Ryan.  They originally had an engagement session booked for the previous weekend but they got rained out and their special day is fastly approaching.  I never turn down a friend so 3 days later we met at the beautiful Sam Lawrence Park just on top of the “Mountain” in Hamilton, Ontario.  It was a perfect setting for this couple, since this was the exact spot Ryan asked Katharine to marry him! I love the romance (maybe I am hopeless after all!)

I was really lucky to meet and shoot a super nice, fun and really down to earth couple.  We had fun spending the afternoon ‘jumping’ through the park, having our coffee and just enjoying the beautiful fall weather.  I wish Katharine and Ryan all the best on their wedding day!

Thank you to Wayne for the coffee and EXCELLENT reflector holding skills! (P.S. I can’t get over how tall you are and HOW DID I NOT NOTICE THIS BEFORE!:?!)

Weekend is here! Hope everyone stays safe and healthy! – J

I have a busy week ahead but I will try to blog about Katharine and Ryan’s engagement session before the weekend! Have a great week everyone!! – J

What an awesome day!! I had an engagement session at Sam Lawrence’s Park in Hamilton this afternoon.  Huge thank you to Wayne from Marble Weddings (amazing wedding planner!)… he was a huge help holding my reflector, getting us coffee and just being Wayne (I think he brought the nice weather too)!  I will try to blog about that session sometime this week… in the meantime – just posting some random fun I had in my studio this past week testing out my new backdrop.

Hope everyone enjoyed the fabulous weather this weekend! – J

I met up with Miranda and Peter in Edwards Garden (Toronto) for their engagement session. It turned out to be a gorgeous fall day (when I first pulled into the park, there was this really sad dark gloomy cloud lingering overhead… but as soon as Miranda and Peter got there it just disappeared – magical touch? maybe!).  I had an awesome afternoon hanging out with you guys in this beautiful botanical garden. I can’t wait until your wedding next year!

Have a happy and healthy week everyone! – J
