Rain or shine, Christine and Andrew’s April wedding in Oakville was just perfect!  What I love about Christine and Andrew is not only are they the sweetest, most organized (well mostly Christine!) and easy going couple who are so incredibly in love, it’s inspiring.  Christine really was the “blushing bride”.  She was absolutely stunning in her gorgeous lace dress (ok, Andrew looked pretty great too!).  I am so thankful to have been apart of their special day.  Congratulations the newly married Mr. & Mrs. Parker! Wishing you a lifetime of happiness…

For more pictures from their wedding day, check out my previous blog post for a video montage!  What a great way to start off the wedding season!

HAPPY SATURDAY everyone! – J

Their love story begins in high school when Christine and Andrew first met…

Christine: “When I first remember having him on my radar, I first noticed that he was very attractive, but I can also remember from the first time I ever talked to him… he was incredibly smart, incredibly witty and incredibly engaging.  To me he always had this tractor beam that always pulled me in… I remember feeling gravitated towards him and I couldn’t stay away… I guess I always knew…”

Andrew: “We started to get together when she was in OAC and I was in my first year of university… that’s when the sparks started to fly.  She’s amazing, the smartest woman I ever dated.  We are the same in some ways but also different in a lot of ways, but I guess in those ways we compliment each other… I think she is absolutely beautiful and absolutely selfless.”

*Friendly Reminder: MAKE SURE YOUR VOLUME IS ON!

Christine and Andrew are the two most deserving people.  Their love and generosity for one another is truly inspiring and I am grateful they allowed me to tell their story (and for letting me try something new!).

I will be following up this blog post with a ‘traditional’ – jmong style blog with still pictures from their special day shortly – so keep posted!

Have a happy Saturday! – J

I am really excited to share my photos from Christine and Andrew’s engagement session from last weekend.  Originally, when we scheduled their session I was nervous the weather would play a major factor – but we certainly lucked out with one of the nicest (and mildest) days in January!

Shooting on the beautiful shores of Lake Ontario in the Bronte Outer Harbour Marina, in Oakville, was the perfect setting for this couple.  Not only was this location only a 5 minute walk from their house, it was the perfect backdrop for this super cute couple!  Big thanks to Christine and Andrew for a wonderful day! Next up, their wedding day (I can’t wait!!!).

Hope everyone had a wonderful week! – J

This is somewhat embarrassing!! My poor little China was in desperate need of a bath and haircut. I like to grow her hair a bit longer and put ponytails in her hair but when she yanks them out and runs around she looks like this… (wonder how she sees??)

Oh the torture of a bath and hair cut.  I think she pretty much hates my guts here ha ha! How cute, she’s checking herself out in the mirror… not sure she likes what she sees “MOMMY, WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME?!?”Finally, the reward… the baby kong filled with treats! She’s happy again! It’s funny, she still looks dirty! My little rat! Soooo cute – love love love!

I have a super busy weekend ahead filled with lots of shooting! Hope to blog again before the weekend is done! Have an awesome weekend everyone!- J

When my brother was visiting a few weeks ago, my nephew King (who’s turning 3 this weekend), gravitated towards the musical instruments in our house.  He really liked strumming the guitar but it was way too big for him.  So, for his birthday, Scott and I bought him his own guitar!  It’s half sized and super cute.  I can’t wait to give it to him on Saturday!

On a completely unrelated note, I’m in Niagara Falls tomorrow giving a presentation, then rushing back to Toronto as I will be donating my photography services at the Osteoporosis Bone Appetite Chef Challenge Charity Event (phew that was a mouthful!) which is taking place at the Old Mill Inn and Spa.  I’m VERY happy to be giving back to such a great cause! I will try to blog about it next week!

Have a wicked weekend everyone! – J

How did I get so lucky?? I love my job and have the best clients! I had such an awesome time shooting Julie and Anthony’s engagement session (along with their adorable friends Eddie and Mel).  We went to this BEAUTIFUL park in Old Oakville for our session and nothing could have been more perfect.  I can’t wait for their wedding… September 10th can’t come fast enough!

Have a great week!

Sometimes it really is all about timing.  Actually, isn’t most of life about timing? Finding the opportunity and seizing the moment?  I was sitting in my office working and once in a while I tease myself and glance outside (just to see what I was missing).  It started off really beautiful, sunny… then the clouds started to roll in.  60% chance of precipitation the weather network claimed.  What does that mean anyway? I mean, I know what precipitation means… but can they really calculate that down to the percentage? and how accurate is this? K, getting off topic.  Back to my office, yadda yadda yadda – I look outside and the clouds are rolling in, forming this really cool bubbly sculptured effect over the Niagara escarpment. I think to myself here’s the moment you have been waiting for!

I text my friend Wayne, who conveniently lives only 10 mins from us and thankfully was available at that exact moment, “come meet me for an hour I want to take your picture… oh and bring your running shoes!!!”

About a half hour later we found ourselves treking up to the top of Glen Eden ski hill (with gear in hand) all in the pursuit of clouds!

…it all came together and I am so happy we chased the clouds into the escarpment that day!

I couldn’t decide which picture to include in this post for the simple fact that I love the rockstar fierceness of Wayne here but love the clouds better in the next, so I am posting both!

Then we just shot a few other fun ones.

Thank you Wayne for being awesome and agreeing to be my guinea pig on such short notice!!

Happy happy joy joy!

It’s my party… and I’ll cry if I want to! Clara’s turning one!  Tons of tears in the studio that day (I cry on my birthday too!).

Going through the images after our photoshoot was heartbreaking. It really wasn’t her day to be in the studio.  But regardless, whether she’s crying or not she’s still a cutie pa-tootie!!

I can’t believe how time flies.  It was only a year ago I was shooting her at a few weeks old. Here are some older images I pulled from my archive.

Happy Birthday Clara!

The word of the day was location! I rented my friend Adam’s studio (William Ainsley Photography) for the day to shoot two Boudoir Sessions.  I had such a fun time shooting in the studio (the space is endless and every corner is incredible!) and my clients LOVED their boudoir pictures. Here are a few teasers from the day (I know I’m getting behind on my blog posts!).
